In continuation from our last Project Spotlight, we have another job to showcase at Civil Beat Plaza. Nestled between Koko Head Avenue and Wilhelmina Rise, Civil Beat Plaza is a four-story office building at 3650 Waialae. The building was named after Honolulu Civil Beat, in recognition of the local non-profit newsroom’s dedication to investigative journalism.

Civil Beat Plaza commissioned talented local artists to create artwork for the exterior of the building. The building’s management team knew we did 3M vinyl wrapping on vehicles and other large format applications, so they approached us to help install a large three-story mural on the exterior of the building. Our client provided us with a high-resolution scanned image of the final artwork, we had a few meetings to discuss the process, and did some print testing including a full-size proof to ensure the job would meet our client’s expectations before the actual installation. The mural was printed on our special texture 3M vinyl and laminate made for uneven surfaces.
