When longtime partner Wall-to-Wall Studios approached us about signage for the rebranding of the Hawaii State Art Museum into Capitol Modern, we were excited to help bring their bold vision to life. The challenge? Create a seamless system of signage and wayfinding to guide visitors through the newly reimagined museum space and its historic grounds.

Through multiple onsite meetings – both at Capitol Modern and at HONBLUE – we worked closely with the Wall-to-Wall team to select the right materials for each environment. From identifying durable, aesthetic finishes to custom engineering key pieces, our goal was to ensure guests could easily locate the galleries and fully experience everything Capitol Modern has to offer.

The result? A system that’s not only functional and accessible but also beautiful – honoring the museum’s mission to be an inclusive hub for contemporary art and culture in Hawaii.
